Volunteer Appreciation Evening: An evening of fun and entertainment was organized on Oct 14, 2017 at the Walter Murray Collegiate to appreciate all the volunteers who have helped at various ICCA events, especially during Folkfest 2017. The ICCA board would like to thank all who attended this event, brought delicious dishes and made it an exciting evening.

Gandhi Jayanti Celebration:The ICCA organized the Gandhi Jayanti celebration on Monday Oct 2nd, 2017 at the Gandhi Statue in downtown Saskatoon. Mayor Charlie Clark was the chief guest and more than 40 community members attended the event. Thank you all for attending and celebrating the life of one of the great leaders of this century.

Semi-Annual General body Meeting:The SAGM was help on Sept 27th, 2017. Thanks to all the members who attended the meeting and provided their feedback to the ICCA Board.

Folkfest 2017 (Aug 17-19): ICCA’s India Pavilion was a huge success at this year’s Folkfest celebrating Canada 150! We received tremendous feedback from the community about our delicious food, the elegant displays and the fantastic entertainment. Saskatoon Mayor Charlie Clark tried his hands at playing the Tabla in our display area while Folkfest President Neil Irvine, along with Folkfest Board Member Dr. Jay Kalra, tried Bhangra in front of a packed audience during our entertainment program. The event and all the festivities were a true team effort. Every volunteer and ICCA board member played a vital role in India Pavilion's success and we are grateful for the overwhelming support from the Indo-Canadian community. We thank each and every one of you for your support and encouragement.

Consulate Visit:The ICCA hosted a consular camp offered by the Consulate General of India on Sunday July 2nd, 2017 at Hampton Inn & Suites. The consuls provided services related to passport renewal, visa, OCI and other miscellaneous services. More than 50 families attended the camp.

Annual Picnic/Potluck: More than 40 members participated in the annual picnic/potluck hosted by ICCA at the Forestry Farm on Saturday June 24th, 2017. Isha organized a yoga session (Thanks Isha) to kick off the picnic, which was followed by a friendly game of cricket and a few activities for kids. This was followed by some delicious food – thanks all for bring great dishes. We would like to thank all members for attending the picnic, for participating in all the activities making it a success.

Consulate Visit

The India Canada Cultural Association (ICCA) is hosting a consular camp offered by the Consulate General of India, Vancouver on Sunday Nov 12th, 2017. The consular camp will be held at the Hampton Inn & Suites (110 Gateway Boulevard, Saskatoon, SK S7L 1S4; close to airport) from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. 

Here is the scheduled for the consular camp:

  • 9:30 am - 12:00 pm       Consular Camp – Preference given to ICCA Members
  • 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm       Lunch Break
  • 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm         Consular Camp – Open to all

Consular services will be provided on a first-come-first-serve-basis. Appointment option is not available. ICCA members will have a preferred timeslot from 9:30 am until 12:00 pm.

The consuls will receive applications for OCI, VISA, passports, issue life certificates and provide other miscellaneous services.  Here is a link to the fee schedule for various consular services. In the attachment, 'TV' stands for tourist visa and 'BV' stands for Business Visa.

All payments must be made via a draft or money order in favor of "Consulate General of India, Vancouver".  For any queries, please email us at announcements@iccasaskatoon.ca or call Praveen Kumar at 306-262-2530 (between 5 pm and 9 pm only).


  • Note 1: E-Tourist Visa, E-Business Visa are double entry and E-Medical Visa is triple entry. These visas are valid for 60 days and dealt directly by the authorities in India whose contact details are on the E-Visa website https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/tvoa.html .  No middleman/agency is required in this visa.  The Consulate or the BLS are also not involved in this visa.
  • Note 2: For regular/multiple entry visa a print out of the online filled form https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/  has to be deposited at the BLS Centre along with required documents.  For detailed enquiries you are requested to visit BLS’ website www.blsindia-canada.com .
  • Note 3: The status of your regular visa application can be tracked online through the site https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/

Important reminders:

  • Here is a checklist for all services.
  • The camp is at Hampton Inn & Suites form 9:30 am until 3:30 pm.
  • All payments must be made only through bank draft or postal order addressed to "Consulate General of India, Vancouver".    
  • Fee for multiple applications from one family can be paid through single draft.
  • All applications should have an enclosed return expresspost envelope. 

Apply for your membership online.  For 2017, family membership is $25, individual membership is $15, student membership is $10 and business membership is $100.
